The Department of Education shared a draft plan for NSW public education that invites parents and carers to share their valuable feedback to help shape the future of NSW public education.
What's inside the draft plan?
The draft plan for NSW public education aims to create an exceptional and equitable learning system, while revitalising the teaching profession with trust and pride. It incorporates valuable insights from key stakeholder groups, including teachers, staff, education partners, parents, carers, and students. At its core, the plan is dedicated to ensuring every student receives the necessary support to thrive and succeed.

Your input as a parent or carer is essential to create equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their background or location, and to foster a supportive learning environment.
The six focus areas
The plan has 6 focus areas:
deliver equitable outcomes, opportunities and experiences
give children the best start in learning
deliver outstanding teaching and learning
improve student wellbeing and development
provide meaningful post-school pathways
rebuild trust and pride in the teaching profession.
