Your child may qualify for HSC disability provisions. The provisions can assist students practically, especially when their disability might affect their exam performance. They can support students with learning, psychological or mental health, medical, physical, vision, or hearing needs. The provisions can include access to a reader or writer, extra time or rest breaks and braille papers and/or large-print papers,
Please note that NESA determines a student's provisions based on how their disability affects their exam performance. If you believe your child is eligible, reach out to their school. They will help you determine your child's eligibility and provide advice on the evidence required by NESA.
Key dates
Year 10 students with permanent disability can apply for HSC provisions from Term 4.
For students in Years 11 and 12, applications close at the end of Term 1 in the year of their HSC exams.
