Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Chromebooks at Grafton High School (GHS)
Grafton High School introduced a new Chromebook BYOD program for our year 7 students in 2015. In this time we have seen student groups gain competence for report and essay writing and study based communication using technology. This is a valuable skill for students to use in education and in life. Our BYOD Chromebook program now encompasses student groups in years 7-12.
Chromebooks work on our 5GHz Wireless (Internet) system. This has been upgraded in 2018 under the Connecting Country Scheme to include indoor and outdoor wireless connectivity via a stable, state of the art Aruba network system.
Wireless connectivity allows GHS students to work anywhere in the school using Chromebooks. This gives GHS students instant access to an ever-expanding range of digital learning units.
