NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
At Grafton High School our students can participate inĀ Special Religious Education (SRE). Local Christian churches have combined to fund the provision of a teacher to deliver generic Christian scripture curriculum, which is timetabled as one or two separate lessons a fortnight, for years 7 to 10 students. All Scripture teachers at the school operate under the auspices of providers approved by the NSW Department of Education.
On enrolment, parents/carers will be given the SRE participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE should be given to the Head Teacher Mathematics, in writing.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
If you wish for your child to be withdrawn from our special religious education, complete the attached FORM (PDF 190kb). These requests are handed to the Head Teacher of Mathematics.
